Dark hope .:Short:. Chapter

It was a chilly morning in the great  valley of Jezabel. All the animals came out of hiding to see the first snow of the winter.  They looked at the glistening snow in awe. Most had seen the first snow of the winter many times but for others it was their first. The young stepped into the deep white blanket. Stepping high for it was hard for them to walk in the snow.
 If you listened closely you could hear the faint howls of the Jezabel valley wolf pack, and the whimper of pups wanting food…..food a mother didn't have.  The herds have been moving out of the territory for the last three years. They were scared to stay in the valley because of something dark. This dark presence didn't kill what it needed, it killed whatever it wanted, when it wanted. For that reason the Jezabel pack has been starving.

A she-wolf stalked her pray, eyeing it warily. She dropped to the ground and let out a quiet growl. If she was to catch this prey it would feed two wolves her size. She leapt and bit at the squirrel, growling.
"Ouch! Renala stop biting my tail and go play with your siblings."
"Sorry daddy I just wanted to become a great hunter like you"
"It's ok dear, but you will have enough time for that later. Now go play and let your daddy rest."
"ok daddy" She said running outside of the cave.
She laughed and joined in with her siblings who were play fighting. They really didn't see her when she sat down to watch. Why? She was the runt of the litter, She really didn't care though. She had a lot of fun with her siblings and everyone was nice to her.
 The dark presence watched the pups from a distance. Seeing which one he would take for his own. He had his eye on the alphas litter of pups since they were born. He compared them in size and saw they were all the same size except for one….the runt. Surly nobody would miss her, and what use would she be to them anyways?  She wouldn't be any use to them but she would be a great use to him. So with that he turned into something that would distract the pup.
